Depuis la nuit weaves together the gazes, gestures and speculative narratives of six artists and authors from Overseas France. How can we imagine the future amidst the din of the night, from the texture of this night during which tangled and unrecognizable bodies get back on their feet with the landscape in a strange joy and language that grind down stories? Nothing frightens them. They are the monsters of the present that archive the storms; they are the creatures that mend the oceans and undo maps. All kinds of disasters are imprinted in their eyes that are the colour of sargasso. The book of revolts is written on their snakeskin. They are the monuments of the future. They speak from the night of the country to come.

Olivier Marboeuf presents a journey that takes the form of a fantastic story. Depuis la nuit is a meditation on the land, the time of the story and the relationship between the forms of life to come as seen from an Overseas France perspective.
