Ana Vila

Water Based

February 14th, from 6:30 to 10 pm | February 15th & 16th, from 11 am to 3 pm

8403 - Cité internationale des arts

Artist Ana Vila is building an installation of floating paintings.

She is working with a type of enamel paint, an industrial product derived from petroleum used for the protection of architecture. It transforms with time and the painting process used by the artist allows a human life experience in space and time to be possible over it.

The installation shows paintings in water in order to question the place of painting in relation to permanent architecture and history.
Often we expect to see the final result, but when does something end?

Eladia Santiago is an architect and helps Ana Vila to realize the structure made of water.

Ana Vila (Argentina) is a recipient of the Cité internationale des arts Visual Arts Committees.
