Mauricio Limon

Based on long-term research on anthropological-social interactions, sexuality and power his work approaches theoretical and philosophical concerns of psychoanalysis and class struggle.
Interested in people who inhabit marginalized ways of living, working in public spaces and often participating in activities that borders the illegal or normative ways of behavior, such as; street vendors, squeegees, homeless and transgender people.

 

To achieve that Limon have learned to become intensely involved with them on a regular basis, coexisting in situations of physical and emotional need that leads him to develop a body of work in different medias such as: video, performance, painting and installation.

 

 

He is a former alumni of the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten, Amsterdam, NL. (2016-2017)). His work has been shown in Mexico, US and Europe at the Pinchuk Art Center, Kiev, Ukraine; Kunst Museum Bonn, Germany; San Francisco Art Institute, San Francisco; CA2M, Madrid; Museo de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid; Museo Tamayo and Museo Universitario del Chopo, Mexico City; Galería Hilario Galguera; Ellen de Bruijne Projects, Amsterdam, NL. Among others.
