This event is organized within the framework of the program La Table et le Territoire supported by the European Union via the program Europe Créative.

If banquets were a mecca for philosophers, the dining table will be at the centre of environmental concerns, the place where the future of the earth and the people who live on it and the health of human beings and the planet will be addressed. If artists take an interest in food, it is because it is profoundly social and cultural, but above all eminently sensory and carnal. They observe, invent and experiment, sharing new visions and food practices, other ways of using of the soil. What culture-based solutions can they offer us to transform food production today and imagine the sustainable foodstuffs of tomorrow?

New Gastronomies: Arts, Food and Ecological Territories is a day of experimentation and reflections on the subject of art and food organised as part of “The Table and the Territory” project led by COAL and LADYSS-CNRS, with the participation of the Cité internationale des arts.

On the menu are more than twenty workshops, culinary experiments, performances, films and panel discussions. The event will bring together artists (guest and partner artists and artists in residence at the Cité internationale des arts), thinkers, farmers, scientists and cultural project leaders from Europe and elsewhere to exchange on their practices and demonstrate the potential of culture-based solutions for transforming the areas where our food is produced.

A collaboration between COAL, LADYSS-CNRS and the Cité internationale des arts.
