Un art en apesanteur presents an overview of the shared history of the Cité internationale de arts and Le Fresnoy - Studio national des arts contemporains and testifies to their common desire, as a place of training and research on the one hand and a place of creation and residence for artists on the other, to defend creative freedom.

"Artists confronted with a world where art has become a commodity, have limited time and space to create works responding only to their sensibility and inspiration. The Fresnoy - Studio national des arts contemporains and the Cité internationale des arts offer an increased space and time to work on art that is "carefree", that is, still free and independent of the laws of the art market." - Bénédicte Alliot, Director General of the Cité internationale des arts and Alain Fleischer, director of Le Fresnoy - Studio national des arts contemporains.

The exhibition Un art en apesanteur brings together artists who have been able to develop their practice within the two institutions, many years ago or very recently.
Among the participating artists is Alain Fleischer, former resident at the Cité internationale des arts and current director of Le Fresnoy - Studio national des arts contemporains, whose work Le partage des temps (1989), first presented at the Cité internationale des arts in 1991, is reactivated for the occasion.

With works by : Basma al-Sharif, Moufouli Bello, Younès Ben Slimane, Hicham Berrada, Wang Bing, Justine Emard, Alain Fleischer, Fabien Giraud et Raphaël Siboni, Kapwani Kiwanga, Lina Laraki, Gohar Martirosyan, Raphaël Moreira Gonçalves, Enrique Ramírez, Francisco Rodríguez Teare, Anna Katharina Scheidegger, Ana Elena Tejera, Yan Tomaszewski, Ana Vaz.
