At the heart of Édouard Glissant's thinking lies an invitation to regain possession of one’s "place of origin" with all the poetic, political and symbolic power that entails and to confront the expropriation of the body and the earth. The same themes are also central to the conflicts facing Brazil today.
Ana Kiffer is a writer and teacher at PUC-Rio de Janeiro. She will be exploring these divisions in an open conversation with artist, psychoanalyst and the Director of the Institut du Tout Monde Sylvie Glissant, as well as Jacques Leenhardt, Director of Studies at EHESS.
Ana Kiffer (Brazil) is in residence through the dedicated programme created by the Cité internationale des arts in collaboration with the Biennale de São Paulo.
