"During my stay at the Cité internationale des arts, I made paintings and sculptures from textiles that I acquired in Paris.
My original materials are often photographs or fabrics and they are at the origin of my process. Sometimes I affix the original material behind translucent fabrics on frames, creating a screen on which I can see through and work with paint. At other times, I tear it up and scratch it, or remodel it as a barrier in space. Rather than considering my work as photography, painting or sculpture, I develop each piece based on the fluidity between the materials.
The purpose of this residency is to explore the possibilities of my work outside the context of the exhibition space."
