Frédéric Nauczyciel (France), partner artist at the Cité internationale des arts, invites Lisa Revlon. Lisa Revlon, a transsexual African-American woman from Baltimore, who became caught up in drug dealing and was sent to prison, is an emblematic Baltimore figure, the embodiment of the city’s urban neighbourhoods and femininity in the black ghettos.
Today, with the consent of her lawyers, she is trying to bring together these two aspects of her life – or her condition – in a complex narrative of social violence in a woman’s body.
Based on a long interview they conducted together in 2014, in which a number of grey areas still remain, they will try during a discussion-performance, to which the public will bear witness, to build a narrative that will serve as the starting point for a film.
