Composer and qanun player, Symo Reyn is influenced by movements as varied as a Middle East charged with emotions and melancholy, the science fiction of the 70s or the cosmopolitan Paris in which he lives, passing through jazz, modern and psychedelic music.

 

After growing up in Le Levant, he studied composition with Bernard Cavanna and obtained his higher diploma from the École Normale de Musique de Paris in film music composition, under the direction of Patrice Mestral. In France, he has been heard at the Opéra de Lyon, the Arab World Institute and at the inauguration of the Mucem in Marseille. He has performed on the international scene (British Library London, Bozar Brussels, Paphos Cultural Capital of Europe, Fes World Festival of Sacred Music, Villa Médicis Rome, etc.) and worked with artists as diverse as Florient Azoulay, Abed Azrié and Estrella Morente.
