Vhan Olsen Dombo, rapper, poet, slammer, actor-director and performer under the name Ya Vé, was born in Congo-Brazzaville in 1990. He studied law then theatre and created the Ishango troupe. He then worked with several directors in Congo-Brazzaville and won the African grand prize for francophone theatre as best actor in 2013. In 2014, he released a twelve-track album entitled Acte de Naissance and won two trophies at the Beat Street Awards. In 2015, he founded the Ras-le-bol citizen movement with friends, students, artists and journalists and had no choice but to go underground. On October 20, 2015, an attempt at a suppressed revolution forced him to go into exile in Cameroon. Thanks to The Artist Protection Fund, he obtains a talent visa and joins France in May 2019 and is now in a writing and creation residency between Limoges, La Rochelle and Paris.
