atelier 2054 - Cité internationale des arts

Naro Snackey is an artist working in the media, painting, sculpture and installation. In her work, she shows her fascination for identity formation by drawing on the personal history of people of bi-cultural background.

During her stay in Paris, she worked with artifacts from ethnological museums and historical architectural elements of the city. For this open studio, she exhibits collages and paintings in an installation. These works have been conceived as a visual metaphor for people who navigate through different cultures by incorporating or questioning them.

Naro Snackey (Netherlands) is in residence at the Cité internationale des arts via the Mondriaan Foundation programme.
