Born in 1986, Magali Dougoud lives and works in Lausanne, Switzerland. She is a graduate of the Haute École d'Art et de Design in Geneva and the Haute École des Arts de Berne.

The artist dismantles the dominant historical and scientific narratives to find other possible subjectivities. She develops an emancipatory feminine imaginary through notions such as liquidity – as a means of heterogeneous connection –, violence, eroticism, plural and inter-species intelligence.

Her practice, mainly video, but also text, sound and installation, is inspired by hydrofeminism, the idea that we are all "Bodies of Water". Water, as an omnipresent motif in her work, allows ambiguous and hybrid figures, often in revolt, to create new narratives in which voices multiply, repeat and overlap.

Her work has been presented in various art spaces, museums and festivals in Switzerland, Chile, Germany, France, the United States and China. She has participated in several residencies, notably at the CAB in Tierra del Fuego, Puerto Yartou (CL), at Air Berlin Alexanderplatz (DE) and at the Cité internationale des arts, Paris (F).

In 2021, she will travel to Kin Artstudio, Kinshasa (DRC) with Pro Helvetia.
