The jury of the third edition of PICTO LAB / EXPERIMENTER L'IMAGE met in mid-February and chose Thomas Paquet's project, for his systematized and artisanal approach to diurnal variations, which he develops through meticulous devices, pushing ever further the encounter between light, space and time.
Thomas Paquet
A French-Canadian artist born in 1979, Thomas Paquet questions the nature of time, the structure of its uninterrupted flow and the dynamics of its movement. For several years, in a game of construction to paint a sensory experience of the world, Thomas Paquet has undertaken a photographic study of its fundamental characteristics: light, space and time.
Represented by the Galerie Bigaignon, Thomas Paquet's work has been the subject of several solo exhibitions and has also been presented at shows and fairs such as Paris Photo or
a ppr oc he. He is also a finalist for the Swiss Life à 4 Mains and BMW Art Makers awards in 2022. Thomas Paquet lives and works in Paris.
The PICTO LAB / EXPERIMENTING THE IMAGE residency
Thomas Paquet will benefit from a three-month residency at the Cité internationale des arts from May to July and will have access to the production facilities of the PICTO laboratories to carry out his project. Restitutions of Thomas Paquet's residency will be presented at the salon a ppr oc he in November 2023, as well as by La Fab. - agnès b. endowment fund and the Galerie Intervalle in 2024.
