Romuald Jandolo presents his installation Last Dance as part of This is our happy place, an event organised by the Cité internationale des arts.

Originally from the world of entertainment, Romuald Jandolo now creates installations that draw inspiration from autobiographical elements. After a nomadic childhood, Jandolo trained in the fine arts and now produces a body of work that often places the spectator in the position of a voyeur.

Last Dance is a mobile project that invites spectators to discover the reconstitution of camp around a caravan, which resembles the one where the artist grew up. At the heart of the installation is a caravan hitched up to a van that has been transformed into a “cabinet of curiosities”. A circus show soundtrack from Jandolo’s family archives completes the scene and will echo around the courtyard at the Cité internationale des arts, accompanying spectators on their discovery of this intimate, mobile museum-like space.

This event is part of the programme of the Les Traversées du Marais festival organised by Marais Culture +.

Romuald Jandolo (France) is a recipient of the Cité internationale des arts Visual Arts Committees.
