On the occasion of the group exhibition JE[UX] EST UN AUTRE at the Musée Français de la Carte à Jouer (under the curatorial direction of Julien Verhaeghe), Christine Herzer presents several of her works from her residency at the Cité internationale des arts, including for the first time, three written drawings from the series "Mes Présents' /The TODAY-Drawings" (2018).
The Musée Français de la Carte à Jouer presents the work of artists from two entities, the Arches in Issy-les-Moulineaux and the Salonistas collective, located in the Paris region. Entitled JE[UX] EST UN AUTRE, the exhibition is based on a problematic framework consisting in staging, in relation or in situation, elements deemed to be contrary. In this respect, it is not a question of conceiving annoyance for what it has that is inoperative, ineffective or unsuccessful. It is more a question of considering it for what is productive or fundamental. The principle is that the contradictions are, in reality, complementary.
