Emilie Jacomet

Le Striptease du Flamant Rose

from 25 January to 17 February 2019

La Folie Numérique, Paris

Le Striptease du Flamant Rose is a physical performance, danced, spoken, dressed with video projections on the broad theme of the representation of women. Emilie Jacomet questions and observes the image of women through past and present societies.

On the occasion of the anniversary of the Folie Numérique, discover the life-size project.

Pictorial, photographic, television and gestural representations, as well as the various physical representations of women... and the consequences that all these phenomena have on women's behaviour and psychology.

This creation, beyond being an artistic performance, could be an opportunity to trigger reflections, dialogue...
The theme that Emilie Jacomet intends to develop comes at a time when current events are provoking debate, while noting the position of women in the arts, politics and society in general. The image of women, their rights and their words are being questioned more than ever.

Feminist consciousness is extremely strong to date. The denunciation of the power of patriarchy, of sexual abuse, is extremely present. Not to mention the subject of social networks where self-representation is central. Images of women circulate there, as sometimes commercial products do.
