Lauri Hyvärinen situates his practice somewhere between composition and improvisation. Using a predetermined range of minimalist tools that he records, repeats and transforms whilst composing, he builds up his works by referencing the spatial and acoustic aspects around him.
This evening, with his electric guitar as his main instrument, Lauri Hyvärinen will be presenting a new series of sound textures that will spontaneously evolve in-situ.
Lauri Hyvärinen will be accompanied by Julien Chamla (percussion) and Bertrand Denzler (saxophone).
Lauri Hyvärinen (Finland) is a recipient of the Cité internationale des arts Music Committee.
