Bibiche Tankama N'sel

Bibatanko, whose real name is Bibiche Tankama N'sel, is a Congolese writer born in 1981 in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo. The youngest of a family of seven children, she began writing in 2005 after completing her studies in industrial electronics.

 

She developed and nurtured her passion for art through the influence of her painter and poet father, as well as through a collective of writers and free thinkers, the Libr'écrire, which she coordinates. She is an author of poems, short stories and plays. In 2019, she published her first collection of poetry Eveil.

 

In December 2021, she contributed to the collective collection for children Contes et fables pour enfants, as part of the collective YACK that she co-produces and which intends to promote French literature. In June 2021, she was in residency at the Maison des auteurs-trices des Francophonies - Des écritures à la scène in Limoges.

 

While waiting for the presentation of her play at the Festival des Francophonies - Des écritures à la scène in the spring of 2022, she has started facilitating written and oral expression workshops with young people. She is currently a member of the Ateliers Picha coordination team.
