The 2019 laureate

Alexandre Ayivi is a young artist who expresses himself mainly through silkscreen printing. Having graduated in 2015 from the Ecole nationale supérieure d'art de Bourges, he continued his studies in Brussels at the Ecole nationale supérieure des arts visuels de La Cambre with an engraving option. A 2018 finalist for the Laurent Moonens Foundation Prize, his work generally questions the African man in his contemporary history. Between reality and fiction, new stories are created and anticipate "probable fictions" in a desire for change in the African continent.

Fondation Culture & Diversité

Created in 2006 by Marc Ladreit de Lacharrière, the Fondation Culture & Diversité, Fimalac's corporate foundation, aims to promote access to the arts and culture for young people from modest backgrounds. To this end, the Culture & Diversity Foundation develops and implements, with its partners, programmes to promote equal opportunities in access to higher cultural and artistic studies. These programmes make it possible to follow students over the very long term, from preparation for competitions to support during their higher education studies up to their professional integration.
