The Farangaan project was created by Tarlan Rafiee and Yashar Samimi Mofakham. These two Iranian artists, curators and archivists are the founders of Bread & Salt, an artistic project dedicated to intercultural dialogue and the presentation of certain unknown aspects of Iranian art history.

Starting from the observation of a cruel lack of archives and university resources on the subject of cultural exchanges between Iran and France – many were destroyed or are kept in private archives, the duo seeks to document the history of artistic relations between the two countries.

Tarlan Rafiee and Yashar Samimi Mofakham (Iran) are recipients of the Visual Arts Committees of the Cité internationale des arts, with the support of the French Embassy in Iran.
