Atelier 8405 - Cité internationale des arts

Tijana Todorovic (designer) and Julia Klemm (sculptor) have decided to create an open collaborative workshop together, as they both use second-hand materials from different "side by side" places (heterotopias) in Paris and transform them into interactive sculptures and autonomous objects. By including the open studio in this process, they want to visualize how the works of art are related to each other. At the Cité internationale des arts, the two artists have begun to develop a new technique in their artistic approach.

Tijana Todorovic will present interactive textile objects, sculptures and drawings inspired by life "in parallel" in Paris. In this project, it does not use waste, but a recycling technique. Using second-hand textile waste and clothing, she deconstructs them to create new shapes, new textures of the human body/appearance. This project reflects society from a visual point of view.

Julia Klemm focuses her work on shaped and glazed terracotta objects and ceramic sculptures, which she frequently transforms into assemblies from found materials. In Paris, she buys second-hand ceramic and animal porcelain objects at various flea markets. She cuts them into several fragments and assembles them with the help of thread, clay, glass and glaze. The concept of the "abject" directs her interest towards the process of creation and distortion.
