Lara Ögel employs a variety of media from works on paper to video to create installations that respond and relate to where they are exhibited, whether specific to architecture or the history of the space.
Her ongoing research and works on archives, memory and dust as broad concepts as they are - have invited her into a very self-reflective space on considering intercultural notions, rituals and approaches to death, dying and decay.
For her Open studio presentation, Lara Ögel will compose a wake ceremony for herself, marking the completion of a cycle of her residency at the Cité while also providing a welcoming, warm and reflective environment among her peers.
