Biennale d'art contemporain du "Génie des Jardins"

For this 9th edition of the Biennale d'art contemporain du Génie des Jardins, the association Génie de la Bastille will present some twenty installations and performances selected by a jury, based on their artistic quality, originality and relevance. This year, artists will be invited to contribute their views on the theme "Mother Earth". 


By organizing its Biennale in the gardens since 2006, the association Génie de la Bastille participates in the development of cultural life in the neighbourhoods and questions us on the place of art in the public space. Three gardens in the 11th arrondissement were selected for this event: the Roquette and Gardette squares where the previous edition was already held, and the Truillot Garden which opened in July 2018. 

 

 

Mehdi Yarmohammadi is a painter, sculptor, poet, born in 1979 in Iran, in Zabol. A well-known artist at home and abroad, he has exhibited many times in Tehran, Denmark and France. He will present an artwork as part of the Biennale Génie des Jardins. 

 

 

Mehdi Yarmohammadi (Iran) is in residence at the Cité internationale des arts through the programme of the Institut français. He is supported by the Ministry of Culture.
