Republic of Preskripsyon is an ephemeral work based on the chlordecone scandal named after the toxic, ecotoxic and persistent organochlorine insecticide used massively from 1972 to 1993 on banana plantations. The vast majority of the population of Guadeloupe and Martinique was contaminated by its use.
With this fresco, Arthur Francietta continues the reflections he begun in 2020 entitled FORGIVE MY BRUTALITY ADORE MY KIND. Like the first words that precede an intimate confession, this project is situated at the meeting point of trauma and negation; it is a sensitive understanding of the vestiges, traces and acts of the past.
