Commissioned by the Forum Vies Mobiles, a think-tank on the mobility of the future, 16 photographers from the Tendance Floue collective and a photographer from Magnum Photos traveled to the four corners of France, each observing the country’s inhabitants from their own unique viewpoint (astonished, empathetic, distant etc).

This sharp analysis of daily life where mobility is omnipresent resulted in Les vies qu'on mène (The Lives We Lead), an exhibition presented at the Cité internationale des arts. More than 400 photos make a foray into the lives of the people – young and old, rich and poor, rural and urban, alone or in families – who live in France, consider their everyday lives whether in summer and winter, by day or by night and both before and during the health crisis.

The photographs on show immerse visitors in a wide variety of lifestyles, whilst giving them the opportunity to reflect on their own day-to-day lives and consider questions of rhythm, pugnacity, mastery, pleasure, abandonment, conquest and scenes from everyday life

Three evening events will be organized by the Forum Vies Mobiles and the Cité internationale des arts so that the public can visit the exhibition until 9 pm and attend a series of lectures and performances, with artists-in-residency, on March 10th, April 7th and May 5th.
