“How can we think about the unthinkable? This question is not about a past that is difficult to understand, but about a future that is reflected upon from the heart of the present. According to Hélène Paris, the future is now more than ever before a moment in time that escapes us. Submerged by the flow of alarmist stories about climate change and the collapse of industrial societies, the future takes on a spectral presence. Wrapped as it is in the folds of the present, thoughts slip off its surface as if it were unconscious. Hélène Paris' work consists in giving form to something that cannot be imagined and bringing it up from the depths of our consciousness, whilst leaving apparent the traces of this crisis.”
