Alexandru Petru Badelita

Born in 1989, the year of the fall of communism in Romania, Alexandru Petru Badelita is a director. He has been living in France since 2014, when he began his studies at the Fresnoy - Studio National des Arts Contemporains. With a background in film editing and animation, his work focuses on experimental videos, hybrid documentaries and unconventional fiction.

Often, his projects tend to have an autobiographical starting point. Nevertheless, through them, its purpose is to highlight marginalized life experiences; to reveal thoughts and feelings that are often repressed by the mind; to challenge injustice, corruption and the status quo.

Surrealism, Dadaism and the art of collage fascinated him and influenced his creativity.

"Today, I agree more and more with this quote: Art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable (Cesar A. Cruz). That being said, let's not forget that we are all made of stardust and that the present moment is all that matters."
