La galerie Paris-Beijing expose les travaux de neuf artistes qui vivent ou travaillent, du moins en partie, à Istanbul. Partant d’un proverbe : « Home is where the he(art) is » (« où se trouve le coeur, là est la maison ») cette exposition emmène à une question d’ordre philosophique (bien qu’également politique) : à l’heure du village global, cette notion de « chez soi » a-t-elle encore un sens ? Le « chez soi » peut-il toujours se limiter à un endroit spécifique ou ne composons-nous pas tous, désormais, avec une multitude de « chez nous » ?
Ces questions travaillent l’imaginaire d'une nouvelle génération de plasticiens, qui sont désormais sollicités et exposés dans le monde entier. Si certains d’entre eux ont décidé, dans le contexte de la crise que traverse la Turquie, de partir s’installer à l’étranger, d’autres vivent toujours dans leur pays d’origine. Beaucoup d’entre eux ont désormais un pied ici, et l’autre ailleurs.

Gallery Paris-Beijing exhibits the works of nine artists who live or work, at least in part, in Istanbul.
Starting from a proverb:"Home is where the he (art) is" this exhibition leads to a philosophical question (although also political): does this notion of "home" still make sense at the time of the global village? Can "at home" always be limited to a specific place or do we not all compose, nowadays, with a multitude of "at home"?
These questions are part of the imagination of a new generation of plastic artists, who are now being approached and exhibited all over the world. While some of them have decided to move abroad in the context of the crisis in Turkey, others are still living in their countries of origin. Many of them now have one foot here and the other elsewhere.
