Didem Yalinay works on IT environments and their capabilities. From this data, she creates generative installations.
She is now conducting a study on "data". Such a survey requires a more in-depth understanding of how data are transmitted and the "noise" they can generate (for many the numerical computing environment is often considered silent or very quiet). By reflecting the processes of data transmission, based on a generative system and the noise they generate, Didem Yalinay questions the consideration of the concrete nature of "data".
Didem Yalinay proposes a workshop to think about the afterlife and the in-between. Do we only want to approach technology as a way to achieve a goal ? Or do we accept to discover how it reveals its true potential?
This workshop is an invitation to an experiment on thresholds, a call to think and go beyond the transmission of our means.
Didem Yalinay (Turkey) is in residence at the Cité internationale des arts through the programme of Be Mobile Create Together and Le Cube.
