Born in 1986 from a Moroccan family in France, Sara Ouhaddou shapes in this double culture her artistic practice as a continuous language.

Beginning her career as a fashion designer, she then develops a more artistic and social practice, addressing the challenges faced by Moroccan craftsmen. She questions the role of design as a tool for economic, social and cultural development, particularly in the Arab world. By sharing with us her questions about the transformations of her heritage, she puts in tension the traditional Moroccan arts and the codes of contemporary art in order to put into perspective the forgotten cultural realities.

"In 2020, following the pandemic, like many artists, my projects were cut short. With the support of the Cité internationale des arts and the Nina and Daniel Carasso Foundation, I have had time to catch my breath, find my way back to the collaborations that are dear to me and initiate new ones. This is how I can once again envisage a future for my practice."
