Open Source Body is supported by the CNC-Dicréam and takes place in the framework of ART4MED.EU (2020-2022), an initiative co-financed by the Creative Europe program of the European Union.

How can we encourage encounters between artistic practices and biomedical and health research? How can art raise the issues of equal access to care? What kind of vocabulary and methodologies can we use to engage and encourage interdisciplinary collaborations that can actively contribute to supporting vulnerable and ill people, or those who suffer from unequal access to care? And how can we address such pressing issues as the exclusion of marginalised groups from health care, global migration, the environmental health disaster and the need to encourage radical treatments in a time of pandemic?

Open Source Body is an interdisciplinary festival organised every two years by Makery.info (curated by Ewen Chardronnet) with the aim of bringing together and encouraging collaborations between artists and health and biomedical research professionals. In 2021, Open Source Body is joining forces with the Cité internationale des arts and Volumes Lab / Oasis21 for three days of conferences, discussions, workshops and performances.

On this occasion, amongst many others, the speakers will include artists Annabel Gueredrat (France, recipient of the ONDES program), Nathalie Harb (Lebanon/France, recipient of the Cité internationale des arts CAPSULE program), Maya Minder (Switzerland, recipient of the "Art Explora - Cité internationale des arts" program), Benoît Piéron (France, recipient of the Cité internationale des arts Visual Arts Committees) and Natasa Petresin-Bachelez, Cultural Programming Manager at the Cité internationale des arts.
