Get-together with Raphaël Dallaporta, recipient of the 2019 Niépce Award, presented by Nathalie Bocher-Lenoir, President of Gens d'images, delegate of the Niépce Prize, and moderated by Gabriel Bauret, independent exhibition curator, sponsor of the winner for his candidature for the Prize.
Presented with 15 other candidates, Raphaël Dallaporta was elected by a very large majority by the jury at the Bibliothèque nationale de France on May 20, chaired by Héloïse Conesa, curator of contemporary photography at the BNF.
In the letter addressed to the members of the jury, Gabriel Bauret wrote:
"Every artist is unique. Some more than others. Raphaël Dallaporta occupies an original place in the landscape of photography. His aspirations have, among other things, led him to build bridges with science and anthropology..."
This evening will be an opportunity for the recipient to explain the intentions behind each of his unique projects, from Anti-Personnel Mines to Prehistory, and his outstanding experience in the Chauvet Cave.
