Jukka-Pekka Kuusela graduated from the Russian Gnessin Academy of Music (Moscow) as an orchestral conductor and concert accordionist. He did his postgraduate studies at the Hungarian National Opera in Budapest.

 

Jukka-Pekka Kuusela is the founder and artistic director of the Finnish-Russian Symphony Orchestra "Sinfonietta Lentua". In 2008, he was appointed Conductor of the Murmansk Philharmonic Orchestra - the first Finnish orchestral conductor in Russia. He is also guest conductor of the Power Strings Chamber Orchestra (Stockholm, Sweden). Jukka-Pekka Kuusela has conducted more than 30 orchestras in Europe and Asia.

 

In addition to traditional symphonic concerts, he has conducted a large number of multidisciplinary productions, contemporary music and opera. As an accordionist, Jukka-Pekka Kuusela has played music of various styles and periods. His mission is to raise the accordion to the same level as other musical instruments.

 

 

Jukka-Pekka Kuusela (Finland) is in residence at the Cité internationale des arts through the Finnish Foundation of the Cité internationale des arts.
