2019 Participatory Budget

Modernizing libraries and conservatories

The Participatory Budget proposes to Parisians to decide on the use of 5% of the investment budget between 2014 and 2020, i.e. half a billion euros. Among all the 2019 projects, we discover a little more on n°20: "Modernizing libraries and conservatories" which proposes in particular the restoration of the auditorium of the Cité internationale des arts!

An auditorium of world cultures in the heart of Paris

The auditorium of the Cité internationale des arts, a residence for artists from all disciplines and from all over the world, now offers a multidisciplinary programme with free access, combining concerts, performances, conferences, readings, debates of ideas and screenings. This 300 m2 space with 128 seats offers a rich and open offer to all, around the international artists hosted in residence, but also around amateur artistic practices or a program with invited partners. This place now requires a profound renovation, in order to better pursue this mission and welcome the public in more favourable conditions, following several areas of improvement (renewal of seats and floor, creation of a fixed control room, installation of a heating/air conditioning system, PMR access).

This renovation would be part of the project to create a public garden around the Cité internationale des arts, and a children's theatre nearby, which will be delivered in 2020, in order to fully open this place to the district and Parisians. The whole would form an intergenerational, intercultural and more open space.

Get ready, votes open from September 6 to 22, 2019!
