Nakrob Moonmanas

Nakrob Moonmanas is a Thai artist born in Bangkok and graduated in Thai literature. This city, source of inspiration for the artist, harmoniously includes in its territory churches, monks, temples, department stores, dirty, ugly and beautiful things. This atmosphere has greatly inspired the artist in his creation who pursues his passion for illustration. He works today mainly with the medium of collage.

From his different sources of inspiration, he combines images in his works (fragments of local history and visual culture, with a touch of contemporary aesthetics), not hesitating to replace by Thai icons, the characters in Western mythologies and in the Christian religion in order to create his own stories.

In his works, Western and Thai influences constantly merge in an attempt to make the hermetic concept of "Thainess" more intelligible.
