Mogoun Jeannette

Jeannette Mogoun was born in Bandjoun in the west of Cameroon. She is an actress, author-composer, performer, director and a great defender of contemporary African and Francophone theatrical writing. The artist works in Cameroon, in various West African countries and in France.

 

 

Between 2005 and 2007, she has discovered theater at the Maison des jeunes et de la culture in Douala under the direction of young director and trainer Eric-Delphin Kwégoué. With a strong taste for discovering innovative techniques in theater and film, she was noticed by her stage presence, her acting skills and her determination.

From 2008 to 2012, she has worked as an actress in several plays: Epilogue d'une trottoire, by Alain Kamal Martial, Maluki theater; Le Caméléon, by Patrick Ndédi Penda, directed by Dovie Kendo, Koz'art theater; Orphée D'Afrique, by Werewere Liking, directed by Éric-Delphin Kwégoué, Théâtre des Coulisses...

In 2012, Jeannette Mogoun has founded the company "Les Racines" and has started to create texts that deal with deep and poetic themes in which children and adults alike find an echo.

 

 

For her creations, Jeannette Mogoun calls upon the work of the actor's body, his/her energy and the crossing of theatrical techniques in the service of the characters' composition.
