performing arts performances staging

Isabelle Fruleux

Isabelle Fruleux directs and interprets her projects in which she links texts to musical composition. Her projects range from solo performances to larger casts where music, set design, costume design and oral or instrumental interpretations are as meaningful as words. As a multidisciplinary artist, navigating between dance, singing and dramatic art, she also performs on the shooting of fictions. Associated with the Loufried Company, whose creation she inspired in 2006, she focuses her attention on social and cultural decompartmentalization.

Isabelle Fruleux has notably brought to the stage texts by Lydie Salvayre, Edouard Glissant, Rainer Maria Rilke, Lou Andreas-Salomé, Frantz Fanon, Mireille Delmas-Marty and Patrick Chamoiseau. Her shows have been programmed at the Centre Pompidou, at the Antoine Vitez Scène d'Ivry theater, at the Fort-de-France Cultural Festival, at the Quai Branly, at the Mucem, at the Maison de la Poésie in Paris, at the Avignon Festival (In and Off) and on many French and Francophone stages.

During her residency at the Cité internationale des arts, she devoted herself to adapting Souad Labbize's texts for the stage and to writing her first book.
