Gabriele Rendina Cattani (Italy) is artist who predominately makes soundtracks: immersive computer generated compositions focused on limits and boundaries of a digital sound environment, and how it could influence our memory and our surrounding comprehension. An artistic research that conceives sound not only as listening, but foremost as a survey of incoherencies – interstices – within recorded, stored, downloaded material.
Composition by decomposition. The listener is invaded by a buzz of tracks that cross over to each other, in unstable equilibrium between visual installation, experimental music, techno, field recording, and sound design.
“Omnivorous hearing. Auditory misleading. Plastic sound.”
