La Littorale #7, Biennale internationale d'art contemporain Anglet - Côte basque is an outdoor exhibition offering large spaces for artistic expression. It confronts artists with the Atlantic Ocean and an exceptional natural site. The tour, which focuses on the Chambre d'Amour, was assigned to the art critic Richard Leydier. It is made up of new and ephemeral works, created in situ by artists of different nationalities who have explored the broad spectrum of love.

Among the eleven artists invited to this seventh edition of La Littorale, the French artist Laure Mary-Couégnias presents a set of five paintings distributed around the site of the Chambre d'Amour.

Laure Mary-Couégnias' paintings exude at first glance a perfume of lost paradise. Animals pose there in a lush setting of flowers too beautiful not to be poisonous. The tiger has a sad eye, the panther displays its predatory talents, the parrot proudly shows off its juvenile plumage, as in a teenage selfie. Each painting reveals a psychological portrait, crossed by a story, whether personal or literary.

Laure Mary-Couégnias (France) is a recipient of Cité internationale des arts’ Visual Arts committee.
