Alexandre Roccoli perpetuates on stage the memory of the working class world from which he borrows his gestural vocabulary, his writing and his aesthetic markers. After working on mining culture, from which his family originated, the choreographer integrates into "Longing" the memory and imagination of textile professions to spun the metaphor of the human fabric. From Kabyle weavers to Italian peasant women suffering from tarentulism, a pathology caused by a weaver spider, Alexandre Roccoli unravels the thread of these individual and collective stories, often neglected on the contemporary scene.
Alexandre Roccoli will present his play "Longing" at the Bal in Paris and then at the International Factory Theater Festival in Laiwu, China, a major event dedicated to contemporary theatre, live musical performances and the visual arts.
Alexandre Roccoli (France) is a recipient of the Performing arts com of the Cité internationale des arts.
