The Slowing of the Firmament

Alasdair Asmussen Doyle

Du 1er septembre au 6 octobre 2018

Galerie Martine Aboucaya

Martine Aboucaya Gallery is delighted to start the season with a dialogue exhibition by Alasdair Asmussen Doyle and Judith Deschamps, where the main character may well be the absence.

Alasdair Asmussen Doyle's project was to go to the point exactly opposite his birthplace, and to bring back images from this quest. He carefully prepared his journey to reach 35° 4' 56.8" N, 41° 7' 47.9" W, somewhere lost in the ocean. But after a few days of crossing, a crucial element escaped: the wind. The installation proposed here is in conformity with the initial project and faithfully respects its corpus: film, photos, map, logbook including this absence.
