Vera Kox

Footprints to fingertips

Novembre-Décembre 2019

Galerie 22,48 m2, Paris

As part of her residency at the Cité internationale des arts, Vera Kox, luxembourger artist based in Berlin, is invited to invest 22,48m2 Gallery for a specific project which report on her latest works. An opportunity for the artist to experiment her recent researches conducted in Paris in the context of the gallery.

« Polyurethane, bubble wrap, pearls of silica gel, plaster, or ceramics, all of which are materials explored by Vera Kox for their textures and effects. Her sculptures in artificial colors evoke future relics of an industrial present. In a tension between the organic and the inorganic, the artist combines synthetic materials with entropic forms to form an estranged landscape. » (Extract from catalogue Flatland / abstractions narratives, group show curated by Marianne Derrien and Sarah Ihler-Meyer, Marc Occitanie and Mudam, 2016-2018)

This exhibition will be accompanied by a text by art critic Marianne Derrien. A program of visits and meetings will be proposed along the exhibition.
