On the occasion of its participation in the Forum Design Paris, graf designed "Food Scope", in line with the main theme of the Forum "The experience of a changing world". Like observation tools such as the microscope or the telescope, which bring about a paradigm shift in the understanding of our environment (both in terms of scale and quantum physics), Food Scope proposes to observe today's changing world, with the objective of "food". Food is an essential marker for understanding our social, economic and cultural life. It is also a valuable indicator that allows us to question our relationship to history, territory, space, body, matter, customs and usages, the legal system, ethics or technology. In Japanese, "Food" is a widespread anglicism referring to food. When it is pronounced, it becomes the homonym of the word "FÛDO (風土)" which can be translated into telluric intelligence, a concept developed by the thinker Tetsurô Watsuji in his book Climate and Culture published in 1931. It explains the influential link between our philosophical thoughts and the specificities of the territory (climate, geography, biodiversity, etc.) in which we live. Food Scope will have this dual objective.

Taking Paris and its surroundings (wide perimeter) as an area of experience, graf proposes to lead a 10-day Workshop with a group of about fifteen students from 5 art and design schools*. Like "archaeologists of the future", the students will try to conduct an investigation by first analysing the existing situation (traditions and know-how and the reason why they persist over time), then proposing new hypotheses of the future based on the elements they have identified. Understanding the potential of the present and designing the future is the ambition of the Food Scope project proposed by graf.
