The relationship between the way we look at a work of art and the time of this relationship is generally not a fixed datum. The three artists of Assemblage #23 (Hugues Decointet, Elodie Seguin and the artist in residency at the Cité, Cecilia Szalkowicz) have chosen to make this temporality a constituent part of their work. To show an image in a time measured by choreography, to contemplate a painting through a manipulation that uncovers the coloured surface, or to dramatize the object by reconstructing a miniature stage space where voices from the past take up their place in the present, these are ways of sharing a given time of listening, looking, and setting in space.
Cecilia Szalkowicz (Argentina) is in residency at the Cité internationale des arts through the French Institute program.
