Alexander Danov was born in 1941 in Makhachkala (Republic of Dagestan, Russia). From 1961 to 1967, he studied at the Mukhina Higher School of Art and Education in Leningrad, where he later taught painting and chaired the Organization of Monumental and Decorative Arts in Architecture in Leningrad. Later, he became a member of the Union of Soviet Painters.

 

 

In September 1975, Alekander Danov participated in the famous exhibition of painting, sculpture and graphic arts at the "Nevsky" Palace of Culture where he presented 8 ceramics. In 1978, the artist left the USSR. He currently resides in Düsseldorf, Germany.

 

 

 

Alexander Danov (Russian) is in residence at the Cité internationale des arts through the programme of the Association of Artists of Düsseldorf.
