Alex Ayivi appropriates history in order to create previously untold stories and develops a fictitious monetary narrative that aims to replace economic reality. To this end, he has developed his exhibition around the creation of a new African currency, which he portrays in large drawings whose shape and design seem to copy those of banknotes.
