Samuel Gelas • Curated by Régine Cuzin

from 07 to 30 June 2019

Infused with the identity of the place where they were created, Guadeloupe or Paris, Samuel Gelas' paintings use various means of expression to question human nature.

His series of large-format, black chalk and acrylic paintings deploy a figurative narrative that borrows from the language and world of young people in order to denounce, not without humour, the animality and animosity of social, cultural and urban violence.

Samuel Gelas (France) is a recipient of the Visual Arts Committees of the Cité internationale des arts and is supported by the Direction des Affaires Culturelles de Guadeloupe.

Exhibition accompanied by Régine Cuzin, independent curator, as part of the Latin American and Caribbean Week.
