The Music Gallery

Émilie Girard-Charest is a cellist and composer.

On 17 and 24 November, the ensembles Pramirabo (Montreal, Canada) and Continuum (Toronto, Canada) will premiere her triptych Heurts - Aspérités - Desseins.

Exploring projections, amplification and new technologies, Continuum magnifies the infinitesimal to reveal extraordinary potential in music. In collaboration with Amy Brandon, they present two composer premieres of PIVOT 2019: the premiere of Amy's new work for augmented reality percussion and a new acoustic work for Continuum's main ensemble by Émilie Girard-Charest, co-commissioned by Continuum with Montreal's Ensemble Paramirabo. These works join a collection of innovative Canadian premieres.

Émilie Girard-Charest (Canada) is in residence at the Cité internationale des arts through the Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec.
