Born to a father from Wallis Island and a European mother, Sacha Terrat has always been torn between the exotic culture of the Pacific Islands and the modern world, between the ubiquitous, lush natural environment of the islands and the world’s great cities.
He incorporates this duality into his creations in a meeting of electronic and acoustic instruments in which traditional rhythms and songs mix with synthesizers and destructured beats, forming a background over which the singer adds his voice.
For this concert, Sacha Terrat will be accompanied by the French cellist Djen Ka and the Egyptian video jockey Hakim Abdelnaeem, who is also a resident.
Sacha Terrat (New Caledonia) is the recipient of the residency program developed by POEMART New Caledonia and the Cité internationale des arts.
