The Institut du Monde Arabe and the Cité internationale des arts join forces for an evening with the artist Omar Harb on the occasion of the Festival des Arabofolies, a festival of music, arts and ideas, which runs from June 5th to 27th, 2021.

Omar Harb lives in Beirut, where he has been working as an independent producer, musician and music book author for over twenty years.

Omar Harb has always been fascinated by the musical possibilities that arise when the West and the Middle East come together, playing, writing, studying and composing music that is at the crossroads of these two cultures. This interest lies at the heart of his music and his creation East Meets West is the perfect illustration of these preoccupations.

With his six-string bass, Omar Harb is joined by Syrian opera singer Rasha Rizk – who has taken refuge in France and is well-versed in contemporary music –, the pianist Carine Bonnefoy and the drummer Christophe Bras.

Omar Harb (Syria/Lebanon) is recipient of the Cité internationale des arts Music Committee.
